Star Wars The Old Republic, one of the most highly anticipated MMOs in development, scheduled to come out in spring of next year, has its own forum. The forum itself doesn’t quite have the same look and functionality as most forums do, it’s somewhat restrictive, which actually ends up being a huge advantage. Because its not full of flash or flare makes it far easier to attract the discussion groups. If your looking for information on the game, the forum is a great place, if you’re looking to discuss the gameplay, what has been released so far, or even respond to developers directly, giving them feedback on some of the design itself, then this is the ultimate forum for you!
This forum has a very high rate of activity with posts into the hundreds of thousands already, the respond rate is high and its very heavily moderated, allowing for an extremely clean and detailed to the point forum posts. If you’re a big fan of star wars or MMOs in general it will be quite easy to start reading this forum and look up to see you’ve been on it for a couple hours. Even the trolls have no place to rant, as though their posts will crop up from time to time, they are quickly dealt with.

Global Agenda is a massively multiplayer online first person shooter, or MMOFPS for short, played on PC. The premise of the game being your either on your own or apart of an agency fighting for territory or simply fighting to get paid. As of right now the state of the game isn’t that spectacular but with the first major overhaul patch around the corner the main global agenda forums are starting to heat up.
If you’re just trying out the trial orthinking starting to become pro it’s worth coming to these forums to learn up on the latest changes about to come out in its 1.3 patch. All 4 classes of the game are getting brand new stuff and more levels to do with them. With new open-world PVE content coming out and a complete loot system to drive a brand new economy the game is worth checking out, but before you do, stop by these forums and pick up as much as you can!
The forums are separated into your usual categories you would see for a MMO. You have a section just for the in-game classes and being the best place to get information on what kind of character you might want to play or more information and strategies on how to play it better. Not a whole lot of trolling goes on in this section but they do pop up once in awhile. In addition to classes there is another section that’s focused on the different aspects of the game play, crafting, PVE, PVP etc…each focus generally well to stay on topic and have lots of useful information.
As with any forum, there is an off-topic and sections designed for people to go off on each other but rarely does it every stay there. Overall these forums are good for starter information on global agenda, even though the overall post rate is not that high due to the low population of the game, the response time is still very strong. If your looking for information on the game and its game play this is the forum to do it in!

This forum is mostly loaded with people who spend a lot of time working with computer hardware, pushing it beyond its capabilities or modifying it to do more then it was designed for. So naturally this forum is a great place to go to ask questions about a computer setup or if your having problems with hardware not working. It’s also good discussions on particular hardware like ASUS specific or other manufacturing types. Even good posts about overclocking and cooling.
In addition to hardware these forums they have also expanded into sections for discussions about operating systems, mobile devices, home electronics and just general news and other such categories. Though some of these forums are not as heavily used, they do tend to have some useful content them as well for their respective categories.
The only real downside I’ve seen on these forums is if your hardware may be to old, like more then a couple years then it quickly will fall down the page with no replies. No one really messes around with old hardware on these forums or cares to respond/support them, but if you’re working with a newer system its not a bad choice for getting information on what will work with what best, or even getting a feel to see how many other people are using that motherboard or video card etc and how much they like it to see if its worth getting yourself.
There are plenty of search tools and stickies, though the site can be loaded down with too many ads at times. It’s worth going to at least once for a round of information.

Boasting nearly 20,000 active members, it’s no wonder that writingforums.org is by far the world’s most widely visited writing forum. Started in 2006, there are now over 500,000 posts sorted into categories that allow for quick access. The members on this site are very active and post everything from advice on how to write better to excerpts from short stories.
There is a separate heading on the home page for each of the main, most popular categories. The Review Room allows all members to post small sections of their own work to be critiqued by other members. With separate sections for Poetry, Short Stories, Scripts, and more, it’s easy to find people with similar writing interests. It is also very helpful to be able to get constructive criticism from other members. There is also a category to help with writing issues; everything from spelling, punctuation, and grammar to character development and reviewing.
Writingforums.org is an incredibly helpful writing site for every type of writer. Having the chance to not only gain others insight on your own work and be able to help critique others but also to be able to fix your own grammatical errors and mistakes is awesome. If you are looking for a strong, community driven writing forum, this one is perfect for you.

Welcome to the Forum White Pages! To kick the site off, I’m going to be writing a review of one of my personal favorite forums on the web – phpfreaks.com’s programming forum.
It is by no mistake that a search for “php forum” lands these guys on the front page. With over 1,000,000 posts and almost 100,000 members, it is quite the active community. As you can infer from their name, they are a forum pointed primarily at the php programming language, although the communal knowledge extends far beyond that one language. Everything from complex database queries to Internet Explorer compatibility styling to low-level apache and linux know how is prevalent. Most of the moderators & administrators have been working in the industry for many, many years, so they’ve been around it all.
Their level of activity is pretty high, with their primary focus, the php sub-forum, dominating the others. If you post any kind of question in there, it will at least get a response, if not an answer, within minutes. The other sub-forums are pretty decently trafficked, with no more than a few hours between post and response.
They are pretty tolerant of newbies, with sparse cries of “RTFM“, but if you fail to read the stickies, or constantly post about what the “Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by”, you will be informed of your mistake. These guys do a really good job of remembering their roots, and what it is like to know nothing about a language / server / layout. If you choose to use this site as your ‘guidebook’ to learn php, you will not be disappointed.
It is worth noting, that there is a really nice off topic forum that is great for killing time, if you are looking for the day’s best webcomic, or how to fix a virus issue. There is also a freelancing forum, but it is usually not too hopping.
All in all, I love this place, and would suggest it to anyone who does anything related to the web, be it designing, programming, or server administration.
